Dr. Prabhugouda Lingadalli is an Ophthalmologist who dedicated his life to eliminate needless blindness. He is the founder of “Anugraha Eye Hospital” Vijayapura and Kalaburagi. He is best known for developing a high quality, high volume, low cost service delivery model that has restored sight to thousands of people.
Dr. Prabhugouda born on 1st of June 1970 at chabanur village Basavana Bagewadi Taluk, Vijayapura District. Basanagouda Patil and Mahadevi Basanagouda Patil are the proud parents of Dr. prabhugouda.
He had completed his primary education at gurukul of shri M.H.Biradar in chabanur village. Later he completed his high school at S.S.High School, Vijayapura and Pre-University at K.C.P Science College Vijayapura.
Dr.Prabhugouda earned M.B.B.S Degree at Shri B.M.patil Medical College, Vijayapura. He received Ophthalmology at one of the best Medical college “Vijayanagar Institute of Medical and Science” Bellary. In December year 2000. He had cracked “DNB” Exam which is the top exam in Medical field.
Later he had served at the best hospitals in the world, “Aravind Eye Hospital, Madhurai for two years.
In 2001, he had been appointed as associate professor in Ophthalmology at Shri B.M.Patil Medical College, Vijayapura. After serving for ten years in that hospital he promoted as Professor.
In 2001 Dr.Prabhugouda founded the “Anugraha Eye Hospital” Anugraha's mission is to eliminate needless blindness by providing high quality and compassionate eye care affordable to the people of Vijayapura & Kalaburgi Districts. Since 19 years, the hospital has been serving the people of Vijayapura district with its best.
Dr.Prabhugouda pioneered mobile eye camps with his outreach team from Anugraha eye hospital, regularly visit rural villages where they conduct “Eye Camps” that screen patients for vision impairments. Those requiring glasses receive them on-site. Patients requiring surgery are brought back to Anugraha Hospital, where they receive surgery room and board, return transport and a follow ship visit at no charge. Each year Anugraha Hospital hosts over 8 thousand free surgeries
Till the date 6 Lakh people have taken treatment and more than 80,000 people have been Benefited with the surgery. The hospital has conducted free eye surgery for around 25000 people. He established a charitable service organization called Anugraha vision foundation trust under which they are regularly undertaking free eye checkup and surgery camps every month throughout the district. For last 19 years he has been conducting free eye checkup and surgery camps every year on the occasion of “Amoghsiddeshwar Jatre” (Fair) at chabanur. In this camp they have provided free treatment for poor and needy people.
His wife Dr Malini Prabhugouda who is also an ophthalmologist is a backbone of Dr Prabhugouda in this endeavor along with her husband. Dr Malini has been working insistently for more than 18years for the development of the hospital and the trust. They have two sons named Amogh and Prajwal.
